Rescue workers in Nepal and Tibet have been searching for survivors after catastrophic flash floods. As of Monday morning, the death toll has reached 903, with over 4,000 people reported missing.
The floods, which engulfed entire villages and swept away homes, were triggered by an enormous chunk of ice breaking off a Himalayan glacier on Wednesday morning. This caused an avalanche of ice and rock that surged into the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli rivers.
The Nepali army is coordinating rescue operations from a military base in Bidur, with helicopters transporting survivors. Authorities have begun burying human remains due to a lack of mortuary space. Among the missing are 48 people from the UK.
