The UK's self-employed and brokerage-based estate agency sector is set for a boost with the launch of new awards dedicated to its professionals. The Personal Estate Agency Awards aim to shine a light on the growing number of agents embracing flexible business models, which have seen significant expansion in recent years.
This initiative specifically targets estate and lettings experts operating under brokerage structures, often overlooked in traditional industry recognition. A shift towards self-employment and agency partnerships reflects an evolving landscape within the UK property sector, as professionals increasingly opt for more adaptable working arrangements.
Nominations for the awards will remain open until 31 July 2026, with entry free of charge. This is a unique opportunity for individual agents, their teams, brokerage firms, and colleagues to showcase their work across various crucial areas, including estate agency, lettings, customer service, marketing, social media, community engagement, and emerging talent.
An independent judging panel will oversee the assessment process, consisting of experts from fields like compliance, recruitment, sales progression, coaching, and PropTech. Their collective expertise will evaluate entries against published criteria, ensuring a fair and robust assessment of genuine excellence within the personal estate agency sector.
According to Chris Webb, founder of The Estate Agent Consultancy and creator of these awards, there is a clear need for dedicated recognition within this segment. He notes that the absence of such a platform has been a significant gap in the industry's celebration of change and adaptation, particularly with regards to regional variations in demand and regulatory shifts.
