By reducing oestrogen levels, the tablet can lead to a significant reduction in symptoms such as heavy menstrual bleeding and pain. This combination drug also contains oestrogen and progestogen to mitigate potential side effects like bone density loss associated with low oestrogen.
The availability of relugolix provides women aged 18 and over who experience symptomatic uterine fibroids with a less invasive, daily oral treatment alternative.
