New Free Property Portal Launches, Attracting Over 6,600 UK Agencies

A new property portal, Find My Move, has launched offering free listings for estate agents and landlords across the UK. The platform, founded by a Hampshire letting agent, aims to challenge established portals by removing advertising costs.

  • Find My Move offers free property listings for sale and rent to agents and landlords.
  • The portal has already secured listings from over 6,600 estate and letting agencies nationwide.
  • Founders Mark Vine and Chris Moss state the platform will remain free for the foreseeable future.
  • Revenue generation is planned through advertising and commercial partnerships rather than agent fees.
  • The initiative aims to address rising advertising costs faced by property businesses.

A new free online property portal has launched in the UK, shaking up the market with its promise of no-charge listings. Find My Move, founded by Hampshire letting agent Mark Vine and housing expert Chris Moss, has attracted over 6,600 agencies and more than 9,000 individual subscribers since its inception.

Disgruntled agents have long complained about the hefty fees associated with listing properties on established portals. Mr Vine revealed that conversations with frustrated agents had highlighted a pressing need for an alternative solution – one that wouldn't break the bank at a time when many businesses are struggling financially.

The portal currently boasts over 435,000 homes for sale and more than 58,000 rental properties, with subscriber numbers growing by approximately 3,000 each month. The website has also attracted over 200,000 visitors in the past three months – of which over half are actively searching for a property.

Unlike other platforms, Find My Move generates revenue through advertising and commercial partnerships rather than charging agents and landlords for listings. Mr Moss stressed that expanding its user base across the UK is the company's top priority, with plans to make the platform accessible and beneficial for all parties involved in the property journey.

The founders are committed to keeping the portal free for agents and landlords indefinitely, aiming to fuel growth and raise awareness within the competitive UK property market. This could potentially disrupt the dominance of established portals that have long charged substantial fees for listings.

Why this matters: This launch could introduce greater competition into the online property market, potentially leading to lower costs for agents and more diverse options for property seekers. It addresses a long-standing concern among property professionals about advertising expenses.

What this means for you: What this means for you: As a UK citizen searching for property, you may find an increased range of listings from various agencies on a new platform, potentially offering more choice. For landlords and those selling property, your agent might have access to a new, free avenue for advertising your home, which could indirectly influence fees or exposure.
