New Greek Luxury Resort to Attract UK Tourists with £55m Investment

A significant £55 million investment is set to transform the tourism landscape in Halkidiki, Greece, with the development of a new luxury resort. This project aims to attract international visitors, including those from the UK, to a new sustainable destination.

  • JTA Investment Holding is investing approximately £55 million (€65 million) into the SARTIMARE Beach Resort & Spa in Sarti, Halkidiki.
  • The project, a partnership with Happy Holidays S.A., will include luxury facilities, residences, wellness amenities, and a marina.
  • Construction is scheduled between 2027 and 2030, with the resort designed with environmental responsibility in mind.

A £55 million investment is set to transform a corner of Greece's stunning Halkidiki region into a luxury tourism hotspot, as the SARTIMARE Beach Resort & Spa nears development. The ambitious project will boast high-end facilities, premium residences and villas, wellness amenities, retail outlets, diverse dining options, and modern marina infrastructure on 120,900 square metres of land.

Construction is scheduled to take place between 2027 and 2030, with the total valuation projected to exceed £85 million upon key development milestones. The partnership brings together Greek developer Happy Holidays S.A.'s local expertise and Qatar-based JTA Investment Holding's global network and financial strength.

The resort's designers have prioritised environmental responsibility, aiming to set a new standard for sustainable luxury tourism in the region. 'This investment signifies international confidence in Greece's growing tourism sector,' said George Iosifidis, Founder and Owner of Happy Holidays S.A. Dr. Amir Ali Salemi Zadeh, Founder and CEO of JTA Investment Holding, added that the project will create employment opportunities and boost Greece's economic development.

For UK tourists, this new high-end option in Halkidiki could be a game-changer, especially as Greece remains a popular destination for British visitors. With direct flights available from numerous UK airports to Thessaloniki (the nearest major airport) and other Greek islands, British citizens can visit without a visa for stays of up to 90 days within any 180-day period.

The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office advises that most visits to Greece are trouble-free, but travellers should check the latest travel advice before departure. Travel insurance is highly recommended to cover unforeseen circumstances such as medical emergencies, cancellations or lost luggage.

Why this matters: This significant investment in a new luxury resort strengthens Greece's appeal as a top tourist destination, offering UK holidaymakers more high-end, sustainable travel options. It also signals robust international confidence in the Greek economy.

What this means for you: What this means for you: This development could provide a new luxury holiday option in a popular Greek region for future UK trips, potentially enhancing local infrastructure and services, though it will only be open from 2030.
