New platform offers estate agents £30 per completed sale referral

One Utility Bill has launched a new service, Homebuyer, allowing estate agents to earn additional revenue by referring homebuyers to utility services.

  • Estate agents can earn £30 for each completed sale where buyers are referred to Homebuyer by One Utility Bill.
  • The service integrates with Street.co.uk, enabling agents to make referrals through their existing CRM workflow.
  • Homebuyer provides buyers with property information, including EPC ratings and utility costs, and support for arranging services.

One Utility Bill has expanded into the residential sales market with the launch of Homebuyer, a new platform designed to offer estate agents an additional revenue stream. Agents can now generate £30 for each completed sale where buyers are referred to the service.

The Homebuyer platform is set to initially operate through an integration with Street.co.uk, allowing agents to make referrals directly within their existing CRM systems. This model aims to provide additional income from transactions without increasing administrative burdens for agency teams.

Once referred, buyers receive information about the property they are purchasing, including its EPC rating, current utility suppliers, and estimated household utility costs. The service also offers support for arranging energy, broadband, TV, and water services before buyers move into their new homes. This property and utility information is available to buyers regardless of whether they purchase a One Utility Bill package.

Shay Jones, director of growth & sales at One Utility Bill, stated that the company created Homebuyer to bring its utility solutions to the sales market, offering agents a "simple, zero-admin way to support their buyers beyond completion as well as introduce them to a new referral model that can help them generate additional revenue from their existing sales pipelines."

Why this matters: This launch introduces a new potential ancillary income stream for estate agencies, alongside established services such as mortgages and conveyancing.
