Restaurant critic and food journalist Jimi Famurewa has explored London's 'third culture bakeries' in a new video. The video, titled "What are third culture bakeries?", tracks bakeries where ancestral recipes and ingredients are combined with contemporary British baking.
The journey includes a stop at Panadera in Soho for a Filipino-inspired leche flan Danish. Famurewa also visits Bunhead in south-east London, which offers a chocolate, date, and smoked salt bun reflecting Palestinian and British heritage. The video concludes at Farha in east London, a Middle Eastern-inspired cafe known for its banana brûlée.
