Newcastle United are in advanced talks with Benfica regarding a deal for defender Amar Dedic. The club has been seeking a new right-back since Kieran Trippier's free transfer to Wolves earlier this summer.
Dedic, 23, previously worked with Newcastle manager Matthias Jaissle at RB Salzburg, where he was a regular in the side that won the Austrian Bundesliga title in 2023. The Bosnia and Herzegovina international is valued at around £30m.
If a deal is completed, Dedic could potentially be called upon for Newcastle's season opener against Liverpool on 23 August. This is due to Tino Livramento's ongoing recovery from a calf injury sustained in June while on international duty with England.
