The latest instalment in the NHL series is scheduled for release next week, on September 11. It will offer updated graphics, venues, professional players, and gameplay for the ice hockey franchise.
EA has stated that NHL 27 will feature team-specific playbooks, developed from real-world NHL EDGE positional data. This aims to provide a noticeable difference in gameplay, including carry versus dump tendencies and how AI-controlled teammates navigate the neutral zone.
