A gold-coloured dress watch worn by Nigel Farage at the UKIP party conference on 20 September 2013 has been identified as a Patek Philippe Calatrava. The discovery resolves a long-standing mystery regarding the timepiece.

The watch, described as a thin, gold-coloured dress watch with a clean dial, narrow bezel, and a small seconds sub-dial at six o’clock, has the visual characteristics of a high-end vintage Swiss watch. A new model with a yellow gold case and gold dial retails for £38,150.

Earlier attempts to identify the watch from an image taken on 9 May 2015, the night Farage lost to Craig Mackinlay in Thanet South, were unsuccessful due to the blurred and out-of-focus nature of the timepiece in the photograph.
