Nine individuals have been arrested after a protest took place at a drone factory in Shenstone, Staffordshire, on Monday, September 21, 2026. Staffordshire Police were called to UAV Engines, a subsidiary of Israeli firm Elbit Systems, at approximately 06:40 BST.
The arrested individuals were reportedly protesting against Israel's military action in Gaza. Four people were held on suspicion of "lock on to person/object/land to cause serious disruption". These include two men aged 57 and 73 from the Stroud area, a 39-year-old woman of no fixed address, and a 77-year-old man from Bolton.
A 55-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested on suspicion of wilful obstruction on a highway. Four other women, aged 74, 63, 30, and 24, from Powys, Radstock, Basildon, and London respectively, were questioned on suspicion of both offences, according to Staffordshire Police. The police force stated that protest activity in the area has concluded and inquiries are ongoing.
