The 'Stick Season' sensation recently went rogue, addressing the problem with some clever satire - and a pinch of desperation! In a performance that was equal parts entertainment and exasperation, Kahan took on the role of a US Congress member, hilariously suggesting a law to make adult diapers compulsory for concert-goers.
The issue has been plaguing his recent tour dates, with shocking incidents including a female fan who relieved herself near the stage at a Philadelphia gig. A few shows later, another woman allegedly urinated on someone's purse in the middle of the performance. Kahan initially took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to express his dismay, pleading with fans: "If you have to poop at a show, for goodness' sake, just use the loo!" He also acknowledged the toll it takes on venue staff, saying, "There's a poor venue worker out there who's got a 1,000-yard stare after dealing with this sort of thing."
But that wasn't enough - Kahan has been tackling the problem head-on at his live shows. At one gig, he took a break from performing to get the audience on board, proclaiming: "I solemnly swear I will not soil my pants! And if I do, I won't take it from my trousers and leave it on the floor!" This direct yet comedic approach highlighted just how unusual this problem is for Kahan - and his fans.
His latest tongue-in-cheek 'call to action' came during the 'Dial Drunk' segment of his show in Washington D.C., where he acts out a phone call with senators. With dramatic flair, Kahan declared: "Oh, Congress? Yeah, people have been pissing all over the floor at my shows!" He then broke it to the crowd that legislation had been passed 'ordering everyone to wear diapers' - and ended with a cheeky: "You heard Congress, f****** put some nappies on next time, y'all!"
This isn't the first time Kahan has had to scold his fans for their antics. Last month, he pleaded with them to stop nicking a street sign referenced in his song 'The View Between Villages', even offering to cover the cost of new signs due to the nuisance it caused local residents. The rising star is currently on a world tour promoting his fourth studio album, 'The Great Divide', released on 24 April 2026. His tour schedule includes dates in Australia and New Zealand in September and October 2026, followed by performances across the UK and Ireland in November 2026, before heading to mainland Europe.
