New South Wales Liberal leader Kellie Sloane has stated she will reserve any decision regarding the future of shadow attorney general Damien Tudehope until the Independent Commission Against Corruption's (Icac) inquiry concludes. This follows Tudehope's admission that he leaked a confidential draft report from a parliamentary inquiry to another Reformer, Jeremy Greenwood, in February 2023.
Sloane told reporters that while Tudehope cooperated with the inquiry, "The leaking of a report is never good. It's a standard that I don't accept." Tudehope, who is the Liberal leader in the upper house and is not named in the Icac allegations, has stepped aside from his shadow cabinet roles during the inquiry.
The inquiry also heard from Jean-Claude Perrottet, the younger brother of former NSW premier Dominic Perrottet. Jean-Claude Perrottet admitted to doing factional work during his office hours while employed in Tudehope's electoral office in 2018 and 2019. He also stated that the Reformers, a conservative right faction group he joined in 2015, aimed to recruit "like-minded people" to influence preselections and signed up members to "dodgy" branches not controlled by the right faction.
