The regional train company liO has expanded its €1 (87p) train deal in Occitania, France, doubling the number of lines available. This initiative, launched several years ago, aims to make rail travel more affordable across the region.
Occitania, located between the Côte d’Azur and the Spanish border, offers various attractions including ancient ruins, cultural centres, and national parks. The €1 train journeys connect cities like Toulouse to the southern coast, with a trip to Narbonne Plage taking approximately an hour and a half.
Travellers can use the liO service to explore destinations such as Montpellier, known for its cosmopolitan feel and historical sites, or Toulouse, the region's capital, which serves as a base for coastal and inland towns.
