One person has been killed and five others wounded following a shooting at a rave party in northern Switzerland, local police reported on Sunday. The incident, which prompted a "large-scale" police response, took place in Aarau, north of Zurich.
Police stated on X that the search for the perpetrators is under way, but their identities, motives, and the exact circumstances of the shooting are not yet known. Swiss newspaper Blick reported that shots were fired before 3am on the sidelines of the Aarauer Rave.
Police spokesperson Vanessa Rumpold told the newspaper that the shooting happened at the racecourse where the annual techno party was held. She added that "several shots were fired within a large group of people." The event saw about 3,500 attendees between Saturday afternoon and early Sunday morning.
