One Nation has admitted to using party funds to build a A$56,000 shed on the private property of James Ashby, a member of the party's national executive. The shed is intended for a micro distillery venture.
According to an email sent to members by general manager Kelvin Morton, the party's national executive approved a “reinvestment package” into Small Batch Brewing Pty Ltd to establish the distillery. Morton stated that the party loaned Small Batch Brewing the establishment costs for the shed and distilling equipment to minimise commercial rent and outgoings, with the equipment to be placed on land owned by an executive member.
Small Batch Brewing Pty Ltd is privately owned by Ashby, Pauline Hanson, and former party treasurer Alex Jones, who are equal shareholders. Morton indicated that the party anticipates making licensing revenue of between A$400,000 and A$500,000 a year from projected sales, a significant increase from its current average alcohol revenue of A$105,796.00 annually. Small Batch Brewing has engaged consultants to finalise licensing and tax requirements before production is set to begin in 2027.
