The Office for National Statistics (ONS) has today, 10 September 2026, released its latest collection of early experimental data and analysis on economic activity and social change across the UK. These real-time indicators are developed using rapid response surveys, novel data sources, and experimental methods.
The published data includes weekly estimates for automotive fuel demand per average transaction, derived from ONS calculations and the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero. Daily System Average Prices (SAP) for gas traded in Great Britain, along with a rolling seven-day average, are provided by National Gas Transmission.
Insights into the housing market are also featured, with weekly and monthly data from Rightmove. Additionally, the release covers monthly figures on new vehicle registrations and production in the UK, sourced from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).
Other indicators include weekly data on potential redundancies from Insolvency Service HR1 forms, weekly Energy Performance Building Certificates (EPCs) for properties in England and Wales, and weekly and monthly Revolut debit card transaction data for the UK. Monthly data on renter affordability for new tenancies across the UK is also included, provided by Dataloft.
