The Office for National Statistics (ONS) has today, 18 September 2026, released its Mortgage statistics, UK: 2025 report. The publication provides data on the number of mortgage sales and other related statistics across UK local authorities, covering the years from 2006 to 2025.
The released information includes mortgage sales by UK local authority and by combined authority in England. Data on first-time buyer mortgage sales by UK local authority is also part of the release. These statistics are collected by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and are currently designated as official statistics in development.
