The data focuses on the relative risk of all-cause mortality and estimated deaths linked to the hottest and coldest days. This analysis covers various regions across England and includes Wales, spanning a period from 1988 up to 2025.
The ONS states that the release includes results from a modelled analysis of mortality attributable to the hottest and coldest 2.5% of ambient outdoor temperatures. It also details results controlling for coronavirus (COVID-19), demographic breakdowns, and underlying causes of death.
