  • White-ball coach Mike Hesson has taken over as interim head coach for the Test team.
  • The third Rothesay Test against England is scheduled to begin on September 9 at Edgbaston.

Interim Pakistan head coach Mike Hesson has expressed hope that his reshaped squad will deliver a much-improved performance in the third Test against England at Edgbaston. This follows what he described as a "little bit of chaos" within the team.

The Pakistan Cricket Board took the decision to send seven players home, including senior players Imam-ul-Haq and Salman Ali Agha, along with wicketkeeper Muhammad Rizwan, spinner Ali Usman, and seamer Khurram Shahzad. Head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed was also replaced by Hesson, who previously coached the white-ball team.

England has won the first two Tests against Pakistan at Headingley and Lord's. The third Rothesay Test is set to begin on September 9.
