Berlin-based startup Passionfroot has successfully closed a $15 million Series A funding round, spearheaded by Insight Partners, as it sets its sights on significant expansion into the United States. The investment, which brings Passionfroot's total funding to more than $21 million, will fuel the growth of its innovative marketplace designed to connect B2B creators with brands seeking specialised content.

The strategic move will see Passionfroot's co-founder and CEO, Jen Phan, relocate to New York to establish a new office, marking a pivotal step in its US market penetration. Furthermore, the company plans to open an office in Sao Paulo and increase its current headcount of 15 employees. This expansion underscores a broader trend where businesses are increasingly turning to expert creators to cut through the noise in a rapidly evolving digital landscape, particularly with the proliferation of AI-driven products.

Rebecca Liu-Doyle, Managing Director at Insight Partners, highlighted Passionfroot's strong market position, noting the dual dynamics at play: the growing consumerisation of B2B marketing and the demand for expert content to evangelise and educate on complex AI technologies. Phan reiterated this sentiment, explaining that as AI makes product development easier, brands face an increasingly crowded market, pushing them towards channels like LinkedIn, Substack newsletters, and YouTube podcasts to reach B2B buyers.

Passionfroot has demonstrated impressive growth, reporting a 13-fold increase in revenue over the past year and onboarding notable clients such as ElevenLabs, Figma, Replit, Framer, and Gamma. The platform offers a proprietary 'creator graph' that uses data on reach and performance from thousands of campaigns to match brands with suitable creators. It also provides a global payment wallet for seamless transactions and expenditure tracking. In the last 18 months, the company claims to have paid creators on its platform at least $10 million.

Since its previous funding round in 2024, Passionfroot has launched 'Zest', an AI agent designed to assist brands in creating, executing, and monitoring campaign performance, even helping to identify suitable creators both on and off the platform. Looking ahead, the company is developing features to help clients measure campaign impact on AI citations and brand appearance in AI-generated answers, alongside new AI tools for creators themselves, offering monetisation tips and content ideas.

This funding round also saw continued participation from existing investors Creandum, Supernode Global, and s16vc, reflecting confidence in Passionfroot's model. The development occurs as other creator platforms, such as Substack and Beehiiv, are also enhancing their offerings to improve creator monetisation opportunities, signalling a robust and competitive market for creator-economy solutions.
