Patreon, the membership platform for creators, has launched dozens of new features designed to enhance creator discovery, community building, and insights. Among the updates is a new iOS feature called Clips, which allows creators to turn their videos into short, shareable clips for download or posting as Patreon's own short-form format, Quip.
The company has also revamped its discovery algorithm. Previously, the system favoured larger creators by recommending similar creators to those a user already liked. The updated algorithm will now focus on comparing posts by topic, craft, style, and theme, which Patreon states will help highlight smaller creators.
Further changes include a new communities feature called Niches, enabling creators to participate in dedicated, topic-based communities. Patreon is also rolling out more granular analytics for earnings, membership, and growth, alongside a revamped Payouts tab.
