Paul Flack, the elder brother of the late television presenter Caroline Flack, has died at the age of 55. He was found unresponsive at his Norwich home on 21 June and subsequently passed away at the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital, according to reports from the Eastern Daily Press.
An inquest into Mr Flack's death was formally opened at Norfolk Coroner's Court on Monday. Coroner Yvonne Blake stated during the hearing that additional inquiries are necessary to fully establish the circumstances surrounding his passing. The inquest has been adjourned, with a provisional date set for 23 October.
Mr Flack was an artist and graphic designer, and is survived by his partner and two children. Following his sister's death in 2020, he posted a poignant childhood photograph of her on Instagram, accompanied by a message that read: "This will be my last post here. May those who know feel shame for eternity. Love you Caroline." This tribute remained his final post on the social media platform.
He also featured alongside his mother and two other sisters in the 2021 documentary, 'Caroline Flack: Her Life and Death'. The programme delved into the life and mental health challenges faced by the popular presenter, as well as the events that led to her suicide.
Paul Flack's death occurs just over six years after the loss of his younger sister, Caroline, who was a prominent figure on UK television. She presented major reality shows such as 'The X Factor' and 'I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here Now!', and famously won 'Strictly Come Dancing' in 2014. Caroline Flack was found dead in February 2020 at the age of 40, with a coroner later concluding she had taken her own life after learning prosecutors intended to proceed with an assault charge.
