PGA Tour chief executive Brian Rolapp has made it clear that LIV Golf players seeking to rejoin the PGA Tour will not find an easy path back. Rolapp stated on Tuesday that any returning player must demonstrate they are free from all contractual commitments or any remaining obligations to LIV Golf.
This requirement follows the precedent set by Brooks Koepka, who returned to the PGA Tour in January after mutually ending his LIV Golf contract in late 2025. Koepka was immediately eligible for PGA tournaments, though not signature events, and made a $5 million charitable donation.
Rolapp also indicated that there would be no special exemptions for star players, emphasising that the Tour is a membership organisation with rules that must be enforced for competitive fairness and integrity. This comes amid increasing speculation about the future of the LIV Golf circuit, particularly after Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF) withdrew its funding in April.
