Pinterest opens new Oxford Street HQ, citing retail links

Pinterest has opened a new UK office on Oxford Street, with Mayor Sadiq Khan attending. The company says it chose the location to be close to retailer partners.

  • Pinterest opened its new UK office in Oxford Circus last week, with Sadiq Khan present.
  • The company reported 640 million monthly users globally, up 11 per cent year on year.
  • Revenue surpassed $1.1 billion in Q2 2026, growing 18 per cent year over year.

Pinterest has opened a new UK office in Oxford Circus, with Mayor of London Sadiq Khan attending the launch. The company said it chose the location to sit alongside retailer partners such as Primark, Samsung and H&M, rather than a conventional tech postcode.

Greg Owens, a Pinterest executive, said Oxford Street remains at the heart of British retail and that the area's pedestrianisation is due to finish by October. He described the move as a vote for London as a centre of retail, technology and creativity.

The company also reported its latest earnings for Q2 2026, with 640 million monthly users globally, up 11 per cent on last year, and revenue surpassing $1.1 billion, growing 18 per cent year over year.

Khan described the opening as a reflection of the “extraordinary optimism in [the UK’s] booming tech sector” and committed to keeping the momentum going.

Why this matters: The opening signals confidence in London's retail and tech sectors, with a major digital platform choosing a traditional shopping district for its office.

What this means for you: Shoppers on Oxford Street may see more integration between online inspiration and in-store retail as Pinterest seeks to connect digital discovery with physical purchases.
