London-listed fintech Plus500 has outlined plans for a "super-app" in the US, following the completion of a takeover designed to expand its presence across the Atlantic. The FTSE 250 company stated on Tuesday, 13 October 2026, that it has commenced development of the super-app, which is expected to offer "sophisticated trading capabilities" and new features for US users.
This development comes after Plus500 revealed its acquisition of Hedge, a retail investor platform that holds a US broker-dealer registration with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Plus500 indicated that this acquisition provides the necessary SEC-regulation to launch its new super-app in the US during the first quarter of 2027. The company also noted plans for expansion into additional geographies "over time."
David Zruia, Plus500's boss, described the Hedge takeover as a "pivotal step" in the firm's US growth strategy, providing access to the "world's largest retail investment market." He added that the new super-app would be one of Plus500’s "most significant product developments."
