City-based law firm Pogust Goodhead, known for the largest group claim in UK history against mining giant BHP, intends to rebrand. This decision follows co-founder Harris Pogust's announcement on Wednesday that he will file a cease-and-desist to have his name removed from the firm.
Pogust, who co-founded the firm with Thomas Goodhead in 2018, cited the firm's recent legal action against its own clients in the BHP claim as a reason for his decision. He stated on LinkedIn that he was "embarrassed to have my name anywhere on that document."
A spokesperson for Pogust Goodhead confirmed the firm's intention to move away from its current name, stating, "Harris Pogust has had no involvement in the management or operation of this firm for approximately three years, and neither former founder has any role in running the business today." The spokesperson added that "The firm has moved on from its former leadership and its name should too."
