Police are searching for two women and a man who left the scene of a fatal hit-and-run crash on the A8 near Edinburgh Airport. The incident, involving a grey Mercedes A250, a black Renault Captur, a grey Skoda Karoq and a grey Hyundai i30, occurred between the Newbridge and Gogar roundabouts at approximately 09:25 on Tuesday.
Emergency services attended, but the 58-year-old driver of the Hyundai i30 was pronounced dead at the scene. Four other people involved in the crash were taken to hospital for treatment before being released.
A police helicopter and dog unit have been deployed in the search for the three individuals who fled. Insp Thomas Mallinson stated that inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the crash and urged anyone with information to contact Police Scotland. The A8 was closed for a number of hours for investigation and reopened at 19:05.
