The Vistula Spit in northern Poland, a thin strip of land stretching into the Baltic Sea, is gaining recognition as a holiday destination. The region, which includes towns like Krynica Morska and Piaski, features golden beaches and natural landscapes.
Krynica Morska, the largest town on the spit, sees its population swell significantly during the summer season with thousands of tourists weekly, predominantly Polish visitors. While popular for city breaks, UK visitors have not yet widely discovered this seaside resort.
The area offers low prices for holidays; a one-bed wooden chalet in March cost around £60 a night, rising to approximately £221 at the height of peak season (July-August). The Vistula Spit borders Russia's Kaliningrad Oblast, an exclave of strategic importance to Moscow.
