The eagerly anticipated fixtures for the 2026/27 Premier League season have been revealed, setting the stage for another thrilling campaign. Reigning champions Arsenal will commence their title defence at the Emirates Stadium on Friday, 21 August, hosting newly-promoted Coventry City. This match marks Coventry's return to the top flight after a 25-year absence, presenting a significant early challenge for Frank Lampard’s side, who will also face Manchester City in their third fixture.
Fellow promoted clubs Hull City and Ipswich Town also face demanding starts. Hull, who secured promotion via the play-offs, will welcome Manchester United to their home ground for their opening match. Ipswich, meanwhile, are set to take on Sunderland on the opening Saturday of the season. These fixtures provide an immediate gauge of the newcomers' readiness for the rigours of Premier League football.
Elsewhere, there are several intriguing early-season encounters. New Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola will experience an early reunion with his former club Bournemouth on 19 September, a fixture that will also conclude their season on 30 May 2027. Manchester City, expected to appoint Enzo Maresca as Pep Guardiola's successor, begin their campaign against Bournemouth on Sunday, 23 August, before a crucial derby clash with Manchester United on 12 September. Michael Carrick, now in permanent charge at Old Trafford, will hope for a strong start against Hull and Ipswich.
The schedule also confirms the return of a full Boxing Day programme, a traditional highlight of the festive period for football fans. Notably, Coventry City are set to face Chelsea, now managed by Xabi Alonso, on this day. Other key dates include the North London derbies between Arsenal and Tottenham, managed by Roberto De Zerbi, scheduled for 5 December and 1 May. The Merseyside derbies between Everton and Liverpool will take place on 28 November at the Hill Dickinson Stadium and 30 January at Anfield.
The season will comprise 33 weekend rounds and five midweek fixture sets, though many matches are subject to alteration due to the involvement of nine Premier League clubs in European competitions. Broadcasting rights will continue to be shared by Sky Sports and TNT Sports, with Sky Sports exclusively broadcasting at least 215 live games, including the Boxing Day action. The new campaign kicks off just 34 days after the World Cup final in the United States and concludes on Sunday, 30 May 2027, with the Champions League final following six days later.
