His absence could impact their title chances, as Arsenal's win percentage in the Premier League drops significantly when Saliba is sidelined.
Chelsea and Tottenham have been active in the transfer market, with Chelsea making England midfielder Morgan Rogers the most expensive British player in history at £117m. Tottenham have also broken their club transfer record twice in July, spending £237m this summer, including £100m for Sandro Tonali.
The increased workload of European football for Manchester United, who have signed Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans, could also play a role, while Chelsea and Tottenham will not be competing in European competitions next season.
