Darts player Gerwyn Price has secured a spot in the semi-finals of the World Matchplay tournament with a clinical display against Ross Smith. The Welshman looked to be in control of the match at Blackpool's Winter Gardens before Smith staged a comeback to draw level at 12-12.
However, Price was able to regain his composure and raise his game to seal victory with a 102.78 average. Price will now face Gian van Veen of the Netherlands in the semi-finals on Saturday, while defending champion Luke Littler faces unseeded Dirk van Duijvenbode in the other semi-final.
Van Veen secured his place in the last four with a 16-13 win over James Wade. The Dutchman took an early lead and had a three-leg cushion at 11-7, only for Wade to battle back and level the match at 11-11.
Van Veen eventually broke Wade's throw to go 14-12 up and sealed the win with a 118 checkout. The defending champion will be looking to extend his dominance in the World Matchplay tournament, having won the title in recent years.
The semi-finals will take place on Saturday, with live coverage available on the BBC Sport website and app from 20:05 BST.
