The UK's favourite 'Harry' has been crowned – and it's not the one you might expect. Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, has given a nod of respect to pop sensation Harry Styles, declaring him the nation's most famous namesake in a light-hearted chat on James Corden's 'After Hours' show.
Pressed by co-host Rio Ferdinand to rank the UK's most recognisable 'Harrys', Prince Harry initially baulked at the idea, citing a 'conflict of interest'. But eventually, under Corden's good-humoured pressure, he relented and handed Styles top spot, followed closely by England football captain Harry Kane in second place. And in a tongue-in-cheek move, Prince Harry joked that he'd settle for third alongside fictional wizard extraordinaire Harry Potter – though he quipped they'd need a 'Quidditch off' to decide their exact standing.
But what does the data say? Online search stats from Google Trends paint a different picture. According to the numbers, both Harry Potter and Harry Kane actually outperform Prince Harry and Styles in terms of search volume – with the Boy Who Lived remaining firmly at the top of the pile.
Harry Styles is, however, on an unstoppable roll. His 'Together Together' tour has been breaking records left and right, including a record-breaking 12-show residency at Wembley Stadium. And to cap it all off, he's bagged a special gold badge from Blue Peter for his monumental achievement.
Styles' Wembley shows were a riot of colour and energy – especially the Pride celebration, which featured performances by drag queens and kings, as well as an appearance by his sister Gemma, who delivered a heartfelt message of congratulations. The tour's set to continue with dates in São Paulo, Mexico City, Melbourne, and Sydney next year, alongside a 30-show residency at Madison Square Garden – marking his only US gigs this year.
