The UK property industry has come out swinging – or rather, boxing gloves – to raise an impressive £15,000 for North London Hospice. The charity's cause is one that resonates deeply with the industry, and this year's 'Rumble with the Agents' event was no exception.
Organised by Paul Shamplina, founder of Landlord Action and the driving force behind 'Rumble with the Agents', the sold-out evening brought together professionals for a night of live boxing, dinner, raffle, auction – and fundraising. Initially, £11,665 was confirmed on the night, but additional proceeds and a contribution from the organisers pushed the final total to a staggering £15,000.
Mr Shamplina hailed the event as a resounding success, saying: "Every year I am blown away by the generosity of the property industry." He highlighted how what began as a passion project has evolved into a significant industry gathering. He added: "North London Hospice does incredible work supporting patients and families during some of the most difficult times in their lives. To raise £15,000 is a fantastic achievement."
Pippa Baker, Head of Fundraising at North London Hospice, underscored the importance of such support. She noted that demand for hospice services continues to rise, while the sector faces considerable financial pressures. "Every penny raised helps to ensure that those living in North London, with a life-limiting illness, are not alone and that they receive the kindness, dignity and care everyone deserves at the end of life," she said.
North London Hospice, established in 1984 as the UK's first multi-faith hospice, provides free services to over 3,500 patients annually, alongside support for their families and carers. The charity is heavily dependent on fundraising and community contributions to sustain its vital work. The success of the London event precedes another 'Rumble with the Agents' event scheduled for 10 December 2026, at Newcastle Civic Centre.
