The UK property industry is preparing to come together this September for a charity walk aimed at honouring the memory of Sarah Edmundson, a respected figure across the sector, while simultaneously raising crucial funds for Breast Cancer Now. Estate and letting agents, along with various property suppliers and professionals, are invited to participate in the Thames Path Ultra Challenge on Saturday, 12 September 2026.
The initiative sees Women in Estate Agency (WiEA) and Agents Together form a joint team, 'WiEA Together', for the event. Participants will embark on either a 25km or 50km walk along the scenic Thames Path, starting from Putney Bridge and continuing through areas such as Richmond, Hampton Court, Runnymede, and Windsor. Organisers are providing comprehensive support throughout the challenge to ensure a successful and impactful day.
Sarah Edmundson, who passed away, was widely recognised for her commitment to fostering support and professional development within the property industry. She served as the former CEO of Agents Together and was a founding board member of WiEA, leaving a lasting legacy of collaboration and mentorship. This charity walk serves as a poignant tribute to her contributions and her belief in uniting the sector.
The fundraising efforts will directly benefit Breast Cancer Now, an organisation dedicated to supporting individuals affected by breast cancer and funding life-saving research. With statistics indicating that one in seven women in the UK will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, the cause resonates deeply within the predominantly female workforce of the property sector. Every step taken and every pound raised will contribute to vital services and advancements in treatment.
Individuals interested in participating can choose their preferred distance. The 25km route has a registration fee of £75, while the 50km option costs £119. Both routes require a minimum fundraising target of £250. Those wishing to join this significant industry event should note that registration closes on 18 August 2026.
