Paris St Germain secured their second successive Super Cup victory, defeating Aston Villa 2-1 in Salzburg. The win means PSG are only the third club to retain the trophy, following AC Milan in 1990 and Real Madrid in 2017.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia opened the scoring for PSG after 20 minutes. Aston Villa's 17-year-old debutant Brian Madjo then equalised just before half-time, becoming the Super Cup's youngest goalscorer.

However, Desire Doue scored the winning goal for PSG on the hour mark, securing the trophy for the French champions. This marks Unai Emery's fourth defeat in the Super Cup.
