Public Panel on Care invites thousands to shape adult social care future

Thousands of households across England are being invited to register for a Public Panel on Care, part of the Independent Commission on Adult Social Care's 'Big Conversation on Care'.
- Around 125 people will be selected for the Public Panel on Care.

Thousands of households across England are receiving letters inviting people aged 18 and over to register for the Public Panel on Care. This initiative is part of the Independent Commission on Adult Social Care's 'Big Conversation on Care', chaired by Baroness Louise Casey of Blackstock.
The panel aims to bring together around 125 individuals from diverse backgrounds to discuss and help shape the future of adult social care. Participants will explore questions such as what care is, who should receive it, and who should pay for it.
Panel members will convene for in-person meetings in Birmingham and London, as well as online sessions, between November 2026 and April 2027. No prior experience or knowledge of adult social care is required to take part. Registration for those who receive a letter closes on Sunday, 11 October 2026.
