The wait is over – Queens Of The Stone Age have unleashed their psychedelic party starter 'Easy Street', the perfect antidote to the summer blues. Released on 14 July 2026, this jaunty new single marks their first material since 2023's epic album 'In Times New Roman…'. It's a track that's been tantalising fans with its infectious energy and witty charm, having made its live debut last autumn during their 'Catacombs' tour.
The official studio version, distributed by Matador, is a masterclass in blending the perfect blend of acoustic guitar and psychedelic synths, courtesy of Josh Homme's signature sound. The addition of American singer Nikki Lane's raw, gravelly vocals adds an extra layer of grit and sophistication, set against a sparse yet pulsating instrumental arrangement. With production duties handled by Homme and bassist Michael Shuman, it's little wonder 'Easy Street' has become an instant fan favourite.
Josh Homme is typically candid about the track's unique charm: "It's kind of a funny song – like hitting your funny bone where it's funny because it hurts and it hurts because it's funny. You're serious, but it's funny." He added that the song was created with imperfections intact, retaining unpolished claps to give it a human feel, saying, "It's not just about silliness – it's about understanding the imperfection of your life. The song, like your life, is in the mistakes – its imperfections are unbeatable."
The single comes with an official music video, directed by Tony Wolski and Christopher Gruse, based on a concept by Homme. The bruised and battered protagonist (Homme) is pursued by a diverse cast of characters, including band members, a Juggalo, a mall Santa, and a fancy cowboy – setting the stage for an unexpected twist that challenges perceptions of outsiders.
Queens Of The Stone Age are currently tearing up stages across the UK and Europe on their stadium tour, opening for System Of A Down. They brought the heat to London's Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last night, 13 July 2026, and will do it all again tomorrow, 15 July 2026 – before joining Foo Fighters for their 'Take Cover' North American leg this summer.
