Rangers and Celtic in Premiership action ahead of Cup derby

Rangers are set to host St Mirren this evening, with the Ibrox side looking for their fourth successive win in the Scottish Premiership. They currently trail third-placed St Mirren on goal difference, who have had a bright start to the season. St Mirren head coach Craig McLeish was named Premiership manager of the month for August.

Meanwhile, Celtic will travel to Perth to face St Johnstone. Celtic maintain a perfect domestic record, having bounced back from a Champions League qualifying exit. St Johnstone are seeking their third consecutive home win at McDiarmid Park.

Both Glasgow clubs are preparing for their Premier Sports Cup quarter-final clash at Ibrox on Sunday. Rangers will be without Lawrence Shankland due to injury, while Celtic's Yang Hyun-jun is away with South Korea for the Asian Games.
