The Tampa Bay Rays secured a 4-3 victory over the New York Yankees on Wednesday night, completing a three-game sweep of their American League Division Series. Victor Mesa Jr hit a tiebreaking two-run homer in the sixth inning, contributing to the Rays' win, which also involved a fan interference call.

The fan interference call occurred when Anthony Volpe appeared to hit a two-run shot for the Yankees, but a video review determined the ball would not have cleared the wall. Volpe was subsequently awarded an RBI double.

The Rays will now host the opener of the American League Championship Series on Monday, facing either the Chicago White Sox or the Cleveland Guardians. This marks their first appearance in the ALCS since 2020.

In the National League, the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Atlanta Braves 4-1 on Wednesday night, clinching their Division Series 3-1. Andy Pages drove in two runs with a bases-loaded single in the seventh inning, giving the Dodgers the lead. Max Muncy added a solo homer in the ninth.

The Dodgers are now advancing to the National League Championship Series as they pursue a third consecutive World Series title.
