Get ready to lose yourself in the raw energy of 'Lost In America', a long-lost demo from London indie-rock icons Razorlight. This exclusive look at their creative process is like finding a hidden gem – and it's out of this world! Recorded before the band's chart-topping hit, 'America' took the UK by storm in 2006, 'Lost In America' offers an unbridled, upbeat interpretation that'll leave you pining for more. And what's even better? This is just a taste of the special 20th-anniversary deluxe edition of their self-titled second album, which boasts five-times platinum status and sold a staggering 1.6 million copies in the UK.
Frontman Johnny Borrell spills the beans on 'Lost In America', revealing it was the band's first attempt at recording what would eventually become one of their most iconic tracks. But, as Borrell confesses, they were so keen to 'sell' this track to other artists through their publishers that little interest materialised. It wasn't until later that Razorlight perfected the polished sound we know and love today. Listening back, it's clear why Borrell loved it at the time – it's a looser, more experimental take on what would become a UK number one single.
The deluxe edition, which will feature the previously released B-side 'Wilfred Owen', is still in the works, with no official release date announced yet. But rest assured, it'll be worth the wait! This autumn, Razorlight are set to embark on an epic tour across the UK and Europe – 20 years after their self-titled album first made waves. Expect a night to remember as they take to the stage to perform the entire album from start to finish.
The European leg kicks off in Stockholm on 23 October 2026, with stops in Helsinki, Oslo, Copenhagen, Paris, and Amsterdam before returning to the UK for a series of dates starting on 26 November 2026. They'll rock Glasgow, Newcastle, Wolverhampton, Leeds, Nottingham, Manchester, and Bristol before bringing the party back to London for a major performance at the OVO Arena Wembley on 4 December 2026. And that's not all – they'll wrap up their tour with shows in Belfast, Dublin, and the Netherlands.
The Molotovs will be supporting the tour, with The K’s joining forces for the London show and opening for Razorlight on their European leg. It's a celebration two decades in the making, offering fans an unforgettable chance to relive the magic of 'Razorlight' – and prove why they're still one of the UK's most beloved bands today.
