Angela Smith from Norwich has written to share her personal experiences regarding an association between birds and death. Her account follows an article by Helen Harris on 19 August, which described birds comforting her during bereavement.
Smith recounted that on the day her mother-in-law died, a wren flew into a classroom window where she taught and was found dead. Later, when scattering her mother-in-law's ashes, a pheasant reportedly hit their car windscreen and died.
Years later, a blackbird died after flying into a glass door at school. Smith stated that she discovered a good friend had died around the same time that evening. She noted that while visiting robins can be uplifting, birds sacrificing their own lives are less so.
