AI company Recursive Superintelligence has announced a $400 million compute deal with Amazon Web Services (AWS). The multi-year agreement, announced on Tuesday, is designed to provide flexibility as the company scales its open-ended self-improving systems.
The $400 million outlay represents the majority of Recursive's fundraising to date, which totalled $650 million when the company emerged from stealth in May. According to Recursive, this deal is expected to be one of its smaller compute agreements in the coming years.
Recursive focuses its budget on compute rather than headcount, aiming to automate its product development. Jason Bennet, VP for startups and venture capital at AWS, stated that part of the agreement involves co-developing infrastructure for these types of companies.
Recursive anticipates releasing its first products, developed using recursive self-improvement (RSI), before the end of 2026. The company expects to have tangible, useful products available by October.
