England's Red Roses have seen their 39-match winning streak come to an end after a 26-26 draw against Canada. The match, played at Sandy Park, was a rematch of last year's Rugby World Cup final.

Despite the draw, England's unbeaten streak has now reached 40 matches. This was the first time Canada has drawn against the Red Roses on English soil.

England captain Meg Jones commented on the match, stating it was "amazing Test-match rugby." She added that the team's "last pass and discipline let us down."

The two teams scored four tries each in the gripping encounter. England came from behind twice in the first 25 minutes, with Claudia Moloney-MacDonald and Hannah Botterman scoring for the Red Roses. DaLeaka Menin, named player of the match, scored twice for Canada.

The draw marks the first of three autumn meetings between the sides, with John Mitchell's team set to travel to Toronto and Ottawa next month.
