Reform UK has received £72m in donations, comprising two £36m contributions from billionaires Ben Delo and Christopher Harborne. This total sum is higher than the combined spending of every major party at the 2024 general election.
Reform UK has stated that these donations "levels the playing field" with larger parties regarding funding. The party spent less than a tenth of the £65m used by Labour, Conservative, Liberal Democrat, Green, and Reform parties in 2024.
The donations have brought renewed focus on the finances of Reform UK leader Nigel Farage. A previous £5m gift from Christopher Harborne to Farage is currently being investigated by the parliamentary standards watchdog for a potential breach of MPs' rules, as Farage failed to declare it upon entering parliament.
Additionally, two key Farage aides, Dan Jukes and James Orr, have been suspended following undercover footage broadcast by Channel 4 News. The footage reportedly showed senior Reform officials attempting to avoid electoral laws on foreign donations, with Farage himself apparently informed. Police are investigating potential wrongdoing, though the party has denied any.
