Cathy Scott-Willars, a former operations manager at a busy regional theatre, has recounted some of her experiences working front of house. Among her stories is an incident during a performance of The Rocky Horror Show, which coincided with a post-show event for a teenage play in a smaller studio.
During the interval of The Rocky Horror Show, a college tutor reportedly shouted at an usher. This occurred after her students witnessed a man in a corset and thong attempting to breakdance, which led to him exposing himself.
Scott-Willars also recalled accidentally walking in on Rufus Hound in his pants while locking up the building. She stated that audience aggression towards front-of-house staff was commonplace, leading her to move on after three years in her role as operations manager.
