Renault is set to begin production of its new 5 Turbo 3E electric hot hatch next year, with 1,980 units planned. The car, priced at £135,000, has reportedly seen the majority of its units already sold.
The 5 Turbo 3E is an electric hot hatch inspired by the original 5 Turbo. It features a 70kWh battery and two in-wheel motors, delivering 540hp across its rear axle. The car can accelerate to 62mph in 3.5 seconds and has a maximum speed of 165mph.
A prototype of the 5 Turbo 3E was recently confined to Goodwood Motor Circuit as it is not registered for road use. First drives of the vehicle are anticipated to take place later this year or in early 2027.
