Reverend Canon Dr Timothy Lomax Approved as New Suffragan Bishop of Warwick

The King has approved the nomination of the Reverend Canon Dr Timothy Michael Lomax to the Suffragan See of Warwick, in the Diocese of Coventry.

  • The King approved the nomination of Reverend Canon Dr Timothy Michael Lomax.
  • Dr Lomax will succeed the Right Reverend John Stroyan, who has retired.
  • Dr Lomax currently serves as Director of Mission and Ministry and Residentiary Canon of St Albans Cathedral.

The Reverend Canon Dr Timothy Michael Lomax has been approved by The King as the new Suffragan Bishop of Warwick, within the Diocese of Coventry. This appointment follows the retirement of the Right Reverend John Stroyan.

Dr Lomax currently holds the positions of Director of Mission and Ministry and Residentiary Canon of St Albans Cathedral. His nomination was approved on the advice of the previous Prime Minister.

Educated at Nottingham University and Asbury Theological Seminary, Kentucky, Dr Lomax trained for ministry at Ridley Hall, Cambridge. He was ordained priest in 2008 and previously served as Vicar at Christ Church, Bayston Hill, Shrewsbury, from 2010. He became Director of Mission in the Diocese of St Albans in 2016, before taking on his current role in 2020.
