Declan Rice and Cole Palmer are among five players who have withdrawn from Thomas Tuchel's first England squad since the World Cup. Morgan Gibbs-White and James Garner have received call-ups to the squad.
Marcus Rashford, Kobbie Mainoo, and Tino Livramento have also pulled out of the squad for the upcoming Nations League fixtures against Spain, Czech Republic, and Croatia due to injuries.
Rice, who played in Arsenal's recent 3-0 defeat to Brighton, made 69 appearances last season for club and country, with England managing his workload. Palmer is reportedly dealing with a small muscle injury, despite completing Chelsea's 3-0 loss to Brentford.
Manchester United manager Michael Carrick confirmed Rashford sustained an "issue" during the 1-1 draw at Fulham, while Mainoo was also substituted in the same match. Livramento missed Newcastle's win over Hull.
Nottingham Forest captain Morgan Gibbs-White receives his first England call-up in almost a year, while Everton midfielder James Garner also joins the squad. England's four-match international break begins against World Cup winners Spain at Wembley on Saturday, 26 September.
