Misspellings on road markings for electric vehicle bays in two Forest of Dean towns have been corrected by contractors. The errors, which appeared in Lydney and Cinderford, were rectified at no cost to Gloucestershire County Council.
Tasha Saunders, Mayor of Lydney, stated she had to verify if the "electirc vehicles" marking on Templeway West was genuine. This followed a similar error in Cinderford, where "electric vehicels only" markings were noted on Station Street.
Ray Donaghue, a Gloucestershire County Councillor for Cinderford, reported the initial issue on Monday. Mark Harris, cabinet member for highways, thanked Mr Donaghue for bringing the mistake to their attention. Contractors reportedly fixed the Cinderford error on Tuesday morning.
Ms Saunders said a resident made her aware of the Lydney mistake on Thursday morning. She contacted the highways team, and contractors were working to correct the markings by 10:00 BST that day.
